I trusted a moisture-wicking tee and flexible trousers, since prior practice days showed me sweat slowed me down; simple, predictable gear keeps focus sharp.

I always wore breathable layers on IELTS day, a light T-shirt under a zip hoodie, plus my favorite soft joggers. Layering kept me comfy when the waiting room got cold, and I could remove the hoodie before the Speaking test without feeling weird.

On my first IELTS attempt I chose a lightweight sweater and stretchy jeans because the test center felt colder than expected. During breaks I slipped on the sweater; once they turned up the air conditioning in Listening, I didn’t notice because I was already comfortable. The key was easy-removal layers so I could adjust without panicking about wrinkled clothes or bulky pockets during Writing. Shoes mattered too, I wore slip-ons with a decent sole so my feet weren’t sore after walking in. When I reached the Speaking room, I didn’t feel distracted by discomfort, and that calmness carried me through the sample questions.

I keep it simple: fitted tee, cardigan, and loose pants with pockets. When I practiced at home, the same outfit let me focus without fidgeting, and I wasn’t tugging at anything during Listening. Make sure shoes are straight-forward, no new trainers that pinch, since I had blisters once and it ruined concentration during the final Listening section. Loose layers mean quick adjustments if the test room switches from hot to cold.
