Seed phrases are 24 words that unlock your wallet; write them down, hide them, never digitize.

Seed phrases are the master keys of your crypto. On my first hardware wallet, I learned the hard way: the 24 words generated on the device are not just backup; they are your wallet. If you lose them or they’re stolen, you lose access to everything. The device uses that seed to recreate your private keys and addresses. I always backup offline: write the 24 words on a steel plate and store it in two separate safes. I never take a photo or store it in the cloud. For extra safety, I add a 25th passphrase as an additional secret; it’s optional but meaningful. After you set up, test recovery with a fresh device to be sure you can regain access. If you must update backups, do so with care and burn any old copies.
