Not a blanket ban, but it isn’t one-size-fits-all either. Silver bullion generally crosses borders, but you’ll run into country rules, declared-value paperwork, and possible duties or VAT. Some places require you to declare the metal at customs and provide proof of purchase; others treat it like currency on paper. Always check both origin and destination rules and use insured, trackable shipping.

I once shipped a few kilos of silver bars from the US to Europe for an investment move. The big lesson: don’t assume it’s just a wholesale transfer. I had to declare the shipment, show an invoice with weight, purity, and value, and I paid VAT and duties at the destination. The carrier insisted on accurate HS codes and insurance. My takeaway: use a reputable dealer, keep the paperwork organized, and check both sides’ rules before departure.
