From my experience setting up a validator on a PoS chain, you don’t get chosen by luck. You stake the minimum amount, run reliable hardware and software, and stay online. Networks weight stake and reputation, but operator performance, timely signing, and uptime decide who stays in the rotation. A downtime or a slash hits you hard, so I built solid monitoring and backups.

Validators are picked by stake-weighted randomness plus performance and bonding requirements; operators must meet uptime, security, and governance criteria to stay in the pool.
